Norman Bird Sanctuary

With 300 acres of natural habitat and 6 miles of hiking trails, this wildlife sanctuary helps preserve the largest contiguous open space on Aquidneck Island.

Castle Hill Inn Gardens

On our 40-acre peninsula, coastal gardens bring both beauty and bounty to Castle Hill Inn. The Harvest Garden is the centerpiece that grows fruits, veggies and herbs that appear in Castle Hill Inn's dishes and signature drinks. On what was once a patch of grass by the Beach House, the Healing Garden is a sister garden with restorative botanicals and medicinal plants — also an ideal spot for weekly meditation sessions. You'll also be delighted by the smaller "secret" gardens tucked throughout the property, and our own apiary that we keep to help pollinate the gardens and surrounding landscape.

Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge

A significant stopover point and wintering area for migratory birds, this oceanfront refuge has 242 acres of nationally protected land.

Dolphin Spotting

While it was once rare to see dolphins in this area, an increasing number of pods have been arriving to Narragansett Bay and East Passage when the waters warm up. Ask our concierge about arranging a summer boat tour where dolphins and other marine life might make an appearance.
