Can anyone take wedding/prom pictures at the lighthouse?
The area surrounding the Castle Hill Lighthouse is private property. The taking of wedding, engagement, and special occasion photos is reserved for Castle Hill Inn patrons only.
What are the payment and cancellation policies?
Payment schedules and cancellation terms vary based on the type, size, and timing of your event. A signed agreement and deposit are typically required to secure your date, with additional payments due according to the terms outlined in your contract. We encourage you to review your event agreement carefully and discuss any questions with our Events team, who will be happy to explain all applicable policies.
Can outside vendors be used?
We understand that every event is unique and are happy to discuss vendor requests during the planning process. While we maintain relationships with trusted local partners and may recommend preferred vendors for certain services, we will work with you to determine the best options for your event.
Is there parking available for events?
Yes. Free on-site parking is available for event guests. You can use the complimentary valet at the Main Inn and Chalet Tent, or self-park at their grassy lot halfway up the drive.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Our culinary team is happy to accommodate a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions whenever possible. From vegan, vegetarian options and allergen-free options to kosher and halal diets, we will work with you personally to create a custom menu.
Does Castle Hill provide event planning assistance?
Absolutely. Our experienced event professionals work closely with you to coordinate every detail — from venue selection and dining menus to timelines and guest experiences. Whether you're hosting a corporate retreat, milestone celebration or wedding weekend, we'll help create a seamless event that reflects your vision.
How far in advance should I book an event?
We recommend reaching out as early as possible, particularly for weddings, holiday celebrations and prime-season dates in Newport. Early planning helps ensure the best selection of venues, accommodations and event dates. If your event is approaching sooner, we encourage you to contact us as availability may still exist for your preferred timeframe.
What activities are available for groups?
Almost any classic Newport experience can be tailored to your group. Popular options include sailing excursions, harbor cruises, lawn games, beach picnics, garden tours, and exploring Newport's historic mansions and coastal attractions.
