The Lighthouse

Proudly presiding over Narragansett Bay since 1890, the Castle Hill Lighthouse is one of the most iconic ceremony settings in all of New England. Built in the Richardson Romanesque style and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, it has guided ships through the Narragansett Bay East Passage for over a century. As a backdrop for a wedding ceremony, it is intimate by nature and extraordinary by any measure.

The Chalet Lawn

The Chalet Lawn is the most expansive setting on the estate, where rolling Atlantic waters and sailboats in distance only elevate the moment happening around you. The Chalet Lawn holds the largest gatherings on the estate with complete ease and no loss of character. Classic Newport. Naturally elegant. Completely unpretentious.

The Chalet Terrace

Beneath a custom sailcloth tent that pays homage to Newport's maritime heritage, the Chalet Terrace looks out over some of the most celebrated waterfront views in New England: Narragansett Bay on one side and the Atlantic on the other. Poetic inside and graceful outside, it accommodates everything from formal seated dinners to relaxed receptions, and opens directly onto the Chalet Lawn when the evening calls for more room to breathe.

The Chalet

Situated at the edge of the inn's waterfront lawn, The Chalet houses two distinct event spaces, the Cove Room and the Cathedral Room, each abundant with old-world character. Two working fireplaces anchor the interior, and custom floor-to-ceiling French doors open directly onto the Chalet Terrace, where guests can venture out onto the grounds or settle into Adirondack chairs for views of the bay. Customizable and quietly dramatic, The Chalet is ideal for intimate meetings, corporate gatherings and smaller private events that call for something more considered than a standard meeting room.

The Ocean Room

Nestled on the front side of the Agassiz Mansion, the Ocean Room is the most elegant indoor setting on the estate. Rich dark woods, exquisite hand-carved details and sweeping views of Narragansett Bay create a backdrop of timeless, unhurried elegance. A majestic fireplace anchors the room and sets the tone for the kind of evening that does not need much else beside fine wine, candlelight and the right people.

The Newport Room

Named for the visionary behind the mansion, the Agassiz Room is the most intimate setting on the estate. Panoramic views of Newport Harbor and the Newport Bridge frame every window.
