Ocean Drive

Roll down your windows and let Newport's coastal spectacles unfold before you on this iconic East Coast drive. Spanning a scenic 10-mile loop, Ocean Drive wraps around Aquidneck Island's stunning southern coastline, passing Gilded Age mansions and other iconic Newport sights. Start at Bellevue Avenue close to Bailey's Beach and head north to Gooseberry Beach, passing secluded coves and wide-open views of Rhode Island Sound to Brenton Point State Park. Continue west to Castle Hill, home to the historic lighthouse and U.S. Coast Guard Station Castle Hill, then loop back toward Hammersmith Farm and Fort Adams State Park, the waterfront venue for the Newport Folk and Newport Jazz festivals.
