In warmer months, alfresco dining is offered on our terraces overlooking the rolling lawn. As fall and winter approach, we offer the same casual, a la carte menu indoors in the comfort of the main Agassiz Mansion. For decades, locals and visitors alike have savored our take on regional cuisine, fresh seafood and cocktails that evolve with the seasons.

What better way to enjoy the expansive sea views and serene setting of Castle Hill Inn than from an iconic Adirondack chair on the lawn? The Inn does not take reservations for the chairs, yet there is a capacity limit. Once that capacity is reached, new arriving guests will be directed to return at a later time or on another day. We expect this capacity to be reached frequently on weekends and advise guests to have backup plans before venturing this direction in a shared-car service or other transportation service.
Adirondack Bar
We invite you to treat The Lawn as your own beautiful backyard. Care for a gin and tonic on a warm, sunny day? Simply stroll up to the intimate Adirondack Bar for the refreshing cocktail of your choice, then return to the best seat on the lawn to relax in front of sparkling Narragansett Bay. It’s sheer summer bliss. The Adirondack Bar is open daily 11:30-sundown for walk-up and cocktail service (drinks only)
Terrace Bar
Sit and linger at The Terrace Bar, where the view is spectacular and the food and drinks always flowing. Order from The Lawn menu, with all the sips and bites you might be craving, from blueberry lemonades to sunset palomas, to native oysters and grilled flat-iron steak. Open 7 days: 11:30am – 8:00pm daily for food and until 9:00pm for drinks.
In addition to our “first come, first served” seating on the Lawn, we are delighted to offer guests the opportunity to reserve a private gathering space on our iconic front lawn, complete with Adirondack furniture and cocktail service. These exclusive sections will accommodate parties of 6-12 guests for 2.5 hours.

We strongly recommend pre-ordering food and beverage selections from the “add-on” menu on Open Table. Champagnes and wines by the bottle, local beers, Lobster Rolls, caviar service, and other snacks are yours to enjoy. Please note that all reservations for this experience are for outdoors; in case of inclement weather, we are unable to offer a back-up indoor space. In that event, we will call to cancel your reservation and provide a full refund. If your plans change unrelated to inclement weather, we ask that you cancel more than 72 hours in advance to receive a full refund.
We offer three seatings daily- 12PM, 3PM, and 6PM.
A $25 per guest cover charge and the cost of any preselected food and beverage are collected at the time of booking.
As the summer season begins to heat up, take some time to enjoy it all and feast on a fresh-made Lobster Roll or Fish Tacos. Indulge in the bounty from New England farms with our Farm Inspired Salad or dive into some fresh raw oysters farmed by local harvesters. Finish your meal with something seasonably sweet like our homemade Strawberry Rhubarb Tart.
