The Turret Suite

The Turret Suite's abundance of windows offers guests 360-degree picture-perfect views of Narragansett Bay. On the main level of the Suite, guests are welcomed by William Morris blue and gold wallpaper and rich, Mahogany floors and woodwork detailing; the perfect surrounding for enjoying the ocean-view soaking tub while watching passing sailboats. A king-sized canopied bed adorned with the finest linens welcomes peaceful slumber, and the adjacent fireplace is ready to be lit should the ocean air become too cool in the evening. To start the morning off right, the bathroom provides an oversized marble shower with stained glass windows ready to welcome-in the sunshine.

Climbing the winding, hand-crafted mahogany staircase to the turreted sitting area, guests will enjoy rich detailing on the second floor, as well. Surrounded by the warmth of silk wall coverings with golden stripes, guests may choose to relax on the oversized embossed-leather chair and ottoman to read one of the Suite's many books or enjoy the state-of-the-art entertainment system. For superb sightseeing, the tapestry-patterned chenille sofa, warmed by hues of azure and gold, is the perfect spot to enjoy the Suite's high-powered German binoculars, viewing nearby Block Island or one of 12 lighthouses in surrounding waters. Arguably, the most exciting feature of the Suite is its new turreted roof. The new turret is an exact recreation of the property's original turret, lost during a severe storm in the early 1900s. The new turret was custom-built on the grounds of Castle Hill by local craftsman to match the exact dimensions of the Suite. With rich Mahogany paneling, it provides luxurious, modern touches while blending perfectly with the historic inn's Victorian roots. The turret provides the Suite with 30-foot ceilings and creates an extended and open feeling, enhancing the most spectacular and unobstructed views of Narragansett Bay.
